Sankyu's 3PL team act as if they were logistics department of Client.

Client wanted to find a service provider to replace the existing logistics partner, who turned out to be a competitor due to industry reorganization.Their objective was to outsource all logistics needs to a single service provider, including the development of an information system, while optimizing the current systems.

Sankyu optimized the whole logistic process starting from filling/packaging the product at our client's plants, the transfer to distribution centers, short term storage and finally delivery to consignees.We developed 3PL information system to meet our client's needs including order process capabilities. We revised the optimum inventory, replenishment needs and allocation for our client.Using our data warehouse, we prepare management reports for constant review and improvement of the supply chain.

Excess inventory and high out-of-stock rates. The costs for inventory and disposal of returned goods are excessive. Our client wants to integrate existing warehouses to reduce costs.

We integrated existing 4 warehouses into one, Sankyu Warehouse location near the client's plant. Sankyu designed a revised delivery scheme, ensuring a next day AM delivery. Handy terminals and digital picking systems were introduced for operational efficiency and accuracy.

Sankyu's international 3PL service reduced lead time and cost, by extensively using our proprietary information technology.

The lead time from order placement to delivery was extended as plants were relocated to Dalian and other Asian cities. Warehousing in/out and inspection of more than 2,000 items were manually managed. Up to date inventory information was not available and subsequently inventory tended to be excessive for fear of line stoppage due to inventory depletion.

Sankyu consolidated all parts and components from our client and their vendors at Sankyu's Moji Warehouse. Data of items to be shipped is sent to us in advance via EDI. Bar codes are scanned upon receipt and prior to shipping, updating our database. Our client's plant in Dalian operates with "zero" inventory thanks to our JIT delivery from nearby bonded area.
